TERCEL exhibition at La Casemate

Presentation of the project

The TerCel project is a pedagogical experiment exploring materials – matter – building systems through an exploratory approach to the development of earth/cellulose composites, with the goal of creating new low-impact construction materials. It examines the use of raw materials sourced from recycling streams. 

The design-led exploratory research addresses potential use cases and technical hypotheses for implementing new products, while also exploring their "desirability" through a visual and aesthetic lens. The originality of this educational initiative lies in its interdisciplinary approach, blending material science, design, and architecture, as well as its emphasis on hands-on experimentation. 

The project challenges how design contributes to research, how it can reshape the designer’s practice, and how disciplines can mutually enrich each other through collaborative exploration.

Events related to the project

Thanks to the success of the project and the achievements of the students, their work is now being showcased in an exhibition at La Casemate in Grenoble, running from the end of May to the end of September.

• The opening night will take place on May 27, 2025, starting at 7:00 p.m at la Casemate

A series of public science talks will also be held, mainly on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m., according to the following schedule:

• June 5 – organized by LGP2: "Cellulose in all its forms"
